*Be Happy* review: Abhishek Bachchan, who delivered a strong performance as a father in *I Want To Talk*, appears less compelling in *Be Happy*. The film prioritizes dance and competition over deeply exploring the lives of its characters.

Ooty-based schoolgirl Dhara (Inayat Verma) finds her greatest joy in dancing. Her single father, Shiv (Abhishek Bachchan), adores her but is reluctant to support her dream of moving to Mumbai to pursue dance. Even when a renowned dancer and teacher (Nora Fatehi) offers her a coveted spot at her prestigious academy, Shiv remains hesitant.
Just as everything seems to be falling into place, an unexpected challenge arises. Will sheer determination and resilience be enough to overcome the odds? Can dreams truly become reality?
The title is catchy, almost inviting a ‘don’t worry’ to precede it. However, the film struggles with the common issue of a strong premise let down by lackluster execution.
Verma shines brightly, bringing energy to every scene. Meanwhile, Bachchan, who delivered a compelling performance as a father in *I Want To Talk*, feels more restrained here. This is largely due to a plot that prioritizes dance and competition—reminiscent of a reality show—over offering deeper insights into the characters’ lives.
